Project Labor Agreement Law signed by Obama!
Obama Adds Union-Only PLA's to Federal Construction Contracts,
Denying You the Ability to Work on Contracts Funded with YOUR Tax
Dollars!
President Barack Obama has signed an executive order that gives Federal
contracting agencies the discretion to require union-only project labor
agreements (PLAs) on federal contracts.
This means that 84% of the construction workforce cannot work on these
federal contracts because they are exercising their right (as protected
by the National Labor Relations Act) to not join a union.
The president also overturned Executive Order 13202, which had been
signed by President George W. Bush mandating neutrality in government
contracting.
IEC continues to analyze this new executive order, though the full scope
of this executive order will not be known until the Federal Acquisition
Regulatory Council finalizes the accompanying regulations.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
Write Congress. Visit
IECVotes.com and contact your U.S. Representative and Senators.
Write a letter to the editor of your local paper explaining to your
fellow citizens how PLAs discriminate against merit shop employers and
employees.
Talk to your employees because this impacts them, too. If PLAs are
damaging to your business, then they are damaging to your employees.
