An
Electrician is a trained, skilled tradesman who combines basic and theoretical
knowledge of operating characteristics of electrical equipment and devices,
along with physical dexterity, and skill to adequately and safely wire
residential, commercial, industrial and other types of facilities. The
Electrician's services enable the consumer to use electrical energy for lighting
and operating electrical equipment such as motors, appliances, control systems,
etc.

Electricians are highly trained professionals who earn one of the top hourly wage rates in the construction industry. Construction Electrician training they be used in manufacturing and industrial settings. Many experienced electricians continue their careers as supervisors, superintendence or owners of electrical contracting businesses.
Minimum Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old and present a birth certificate or reliable proof of age
- Be a high school graduates or successfully passed the GED equivalency exam (diploma or GED required)
- Have successfully completed one year of high school algebra with a grade of C or better. Transcripts are required.
- Presents a Washington State Driver’s License and Social Security Card
- Be physically able to perform at the work of the trade
Applications may also be required to pass a drug test and complete a physical exam prior to placement with any Training Agent.
Program Overview
The construction electrician program involves 576 hours of classroom instruction and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training.
Classroom instruction is conducted September through June at sites in Bellingham, Bremerton, Everett, Tacoma, Walla Walla and Yakima.
Classroom Training
Classes meet one night per week for four hours totaling 144 class hours per year. CPR and First Aid is included in the annual registration fee and is a requirement to ensure safety on the job.
On-the-job Training
To complete the program, the total of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training is required in four work areas:
- 500 hours residential
- 3,500 hours commercial
- 3,000 hours industrial
- 1,000 hours specialized systems
Apprentices are supervised by a one to one ratio with a licensed journey person and receive extensive instruction in job safety.

Applications may be submitted on Tuesdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m (excluding holidays) at the Everett Training Center,
11630 Airport Rd. Ste. 300, Everett, WA 98204. Applications are available year-round. All requirements must be presented and verified before the application is considered complete. A onetime $20 application fee is required. Check or money order only, please.
All applicants will be interviewed and accepted into the program based on their interview score. Acceptance of the application or invitation to interview is no guarantee of acceptance into the program. Interviews are held year-round and our scheduled depending on the demand for the apprentices.
